Ben Chesneau
Ben Chesneau is a graduate of American University with his BA in Audio Production and minors in Music Theory and Applied Physics. His lifelong interest in cameras and audio took from volunteering at his hometown’s public access TV station to recording, editing, and sound designing audio for festival winning films and documentary programs over a 10-year career.
Ben is a lover of music and a (mostly) self taught multi-instrumentalist at home in popular genres from rock to folk and blues. His musical training in school centered on jazz guitar & drums, and western classical music theory. When he’s not working, playing volleyball, or traveling, Ben mixes business and pleasure by taking his equipment into the field to record ambiences, music, and sound effects.
Martin Constenla
Martin Constenla has been working as a freelance musician and Audio Engineer in NYC since 2016. His attention to detail brings a superlative quality of sound to your performances and livestream.
He has been working with Borough of Manhattan Community College Music & Art Department since 2017 and has been heavily involved on all the live performances. He has worked with chamber ensembles, jazz and rock bands.
David Milkis
Born on August 31, 1995, to a Russian-Jewish immigrant mother in the vibrant city of New York, David Milkis is a versatile musician, music producer, audio engineer, and music publisher. His musical journey took root at the prestigious Special Music School, where he honed the foundation of his musical abilities. Prior to college, David completed an apprenticeship at Engine Room Audio, earning certification as a producer/engineer. Graduating with a B.S. in Music from CUNY Lehman, David's academic achievements laid the groundwork for their future in the industry.
Hailing from a family with a rich musical heritage spanning three generations, David's musical DNA runs deep. Currently based in Upper Manhattan, Milkis has emerged as a freelancer, lending his skills as a cellist and bassist to various projects. David's musical palette extends across genres as well, embracing classical works, jazz improv, indie rock, and hip-hop. His passion for diverse musical expressions is manifested through his label, FreeThe Entertainment, where he collaborates with independent and local artists, contributing to the vibrant tapestry of the music scene.
In addition to his freelance work, David serves as a Music Tutor and Supplemental Instructor at CUNY BMCC, sharing his knowledge and nurturing the talents of aspiring musicians. Summers find him in the picturesque landscapes of Tuscany, assuming the role of Production Coordinator at the Clazz International Music Festival. In every note he plays and every role he undertakes, David Milkis continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of music, seamlessly blending tradition with innovation and inspiring both fellow musicians and enthusiasts alike.
Roscelia Ryan
Roscelia Ryan is an audio engineer with more than 5 years of recording experience. She studied at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, AZ. She got her start in New York City in the podcast industry - producing podcasts for Refinery 29, Chase Bank, W Magazine, and Microsoft just to name a few. Now Roscelia serves as an A/V technician at Brooklyn Law School, running audio, video, and troubleshooting on the fly for various events and on special occasions even DJing too!
Lynlia Tso
Lynlia Tso is an arts administrator, piano teacher, actor, and recording studio assistant based in New York City. Whether it is shooting a film, teaching piano technique, or live streaming a concert, she is always doing something in the arts field.
Interested in its psychological and neurological impact, Lynlia envisions spreading the joy of the arts on mental well being and relationship to human life. To this end she dedicates herself to being a strong advocate for artists and art organizations.
In May of 2023, Lynlia graduated with a Master of Arts in Performing Arts Administration at New York University. She previously received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Chinese Language & Literature at CUNY Hunter College under the Macaulay Honors Program.
In 2019, Lynlia completed her capstone year in Taiwan under the American Council’s Language Flagship Program, where she studied Mandarin extensively and worked as an intern at the Taiwan Philharmonic. Most recently, Lynlia competed as a top 10 finalist of the Miss Chinese Pageant.
Lynlia is currently pursuing a second graduate degree in Music Therapy at New York University.
James Wu
James Wu (BM'11, MM'13, Mannes) is a freelance AV engineer in NYC with both live event and production experience and capabilities.
A trained classical violinist, pianist, and composer, James instinctly recognizes the nuances of speech and song, and hears music in otherwise ordinary sound. His refined aural sensitivity serves him well in creation, capture, and the cutting room.
James has participated in most happenings behind the camera or stage. He's an experienced Finale typesetter, romantic composer, and diligent recordist; he's also experienced the joys of being a creative videographer, narrative editor, and illuminative photographer.
With experience in music, sound, film, and lighting, James considers his primary purpose in life to be helping others. He's been known to stick around on sets to see that things aren't left hanging.
James' mentors include Claudia Knafo and Adam Kent (piano), Anna Pelekh and Sally Thomas (violin), David Loeb and Noam Sivan (composition), Joseph Patrych and Mike Cabell (A/V engineering). He was sound recordist and camera operator in the indie film scene for several years before returning to engineering at Mannes for two years, after which he made his way to Klavierhaus.
